Providing innovative, nonsurgical solutions to women’s intimate health.
From childbirth, to menopause, to aging, women undergo may undergo many big events throughout their lifetime. Becasue of instances like these, the vaginal wall grows thinner due to decreased collagen production, thus causing the vagina to lose its tautness.
These examples aside, there are many other factors that come into play such as issues with pregnancy, childbirth defects, genetic predisposition, age, and lifestyle choices that exaggerate vaginal laxity. The results lead to lesser vaginal sensation, dissatisfaction or pain during intercourse, and incontinence, among others.
While there are several surgical treatment options today, the demand for nonsurgical gynecologic therapy is on the rise. The Viveve System is a novel vaginal rejuvenation device. It is a safe and highly effective technology that has been specially designed to provide innovative, nonsurgical solutions to women’s intimate health.
How Does Viveve Treatment Work?
The Viveve device employs cryogen-cooled monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) to deliver heat to the vaginal walls. The device used has a dual action. It provides short, alternating pulses of heat and cold to preserve the delicate surface of the vagina while allowing for deeper heating of the loose tissue underneath.
The cooling technology of Viveve treatment stimulates your body to naturally form younger and tighter collagen gradually. The collagen revitalization goes on for at least 3–6 months after the treatment – the results last up to 12 months. Moreover, you only need one treatment session that takes about 45 minutes.
Aside from alternating warm and cool sensations during the procedure, you will not experience any pain. There is also no downtime; hence you may resume your normal routine immediately after the therapy session.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for Viveve Treatment?
Any woman who wishes to increase their vaginal laxity, reduce moisture loss, minimize incontinence, or increase sensation makes for an ideal candidate for the Viveve therapy. However, women who are pregnant are advised to wait until they deliver. Menstruating women, too, should wait because the blood flow could impede RF energy penetration.
Another exception is patients who have an automatic implantable cardiovascular defibrillator (AICD). As a general rule of thumb, you should consult with your specialist to determine if this procedure is suitable for you. Contact us today!
